Results for 2015

Bible Society Australia (“BSA”) continues to receive the blessing of Our Father and we thank all our supporters for contributing to a successful year.

A significant focus in our international mission was our Pakistan “Beacon of Light” literacy programme. More than 7,200 women have graduated and 32,500 Scriptures were distributed.

Bible Society Australia has contributed to more than 35 projects internationally during the year and with support from other Bible Societies around the world, aided in the completion of Bible translations in 50 languages spoken by nearly 60 million people.

Over $2 million was distributed through United Bible Societies to assist in Bible distribution, Bible translation, literacy, scriptures for children and support for those in prisons.

The Their Sacrifice campaign aimed at celebrating the role of the Bible in support of peace, toured 11 Westfield Shopping Centres around the country. Approximately 17,800 people visited the exhibition, while 180,000 story brochures, 4,900 Their Sacrifice books, 1,500 Bullet in the Bible DVDs were distributed and/or sold.

Bible Society also provided more than 87,000 pieces of Scripture to chaplains and Christian organisations during 2015.

The consolidated net surplus for the year is $922,471 with $149,166 held as restricted funds for specific programmes in 2016.

Excluding the share market gains, the total income resources are $36,630,175 (2014: $14,236,079), while expenses rose to $35,178,669 from $13,128,472. The growth in both revenue and expenses reflect the Koorong acquisition.
